Homes priced for the First Home Finance band across South Africa — and a calculator that turns your income into the subsidy estimate and the homes that fit it.
What could First Home Finance add for you?
One number, no sign-up, nothing stored. Estimates follow the NHFC's 2023/24 sliding scale — the exact amount always comes from the NHFC when you apply.
The subsidy is for households earning between R 3 501 and R 22 000 a month.
What else must be true to qualify?
- First-time home buyer, 18 or older, SA citizen or permanent resident.
- Married, cohabiting, or single with a financial dependant.
- Never received a government housing subsidy before.
- A home loan (or other NHFC-approved finance) approved in principle.
This is general information, not financial advice, and we are not the NHFC or a lender. The NHFC's decision on any application is the only one that counts.
